About the association
A women-led tradition of service, fellowship and cultural care.
Udruga “Hrvatske Žene” Donji Kukuruzari is an independent non-profit association serving women, families and communities in Croatia.
Our history and purpose
Our association grew from the enduring Croatian tradition of women organising for mutual help, cultural continuity and the public good. Through volunteer service and community partnerships, members create opportunities for learning, solidarity and meaningful participation.
We preserve cultural memory through gatherings, handicraft activity and intergenerational exchange. At the same time, we address present-day needs: social isolation, unequal access to learning, family hardship and the need for resilient rural communities.
Governance and leadership
The association is governed in accordance with its charter and Croatian law. The Assembly provides democratic oversight, the authorised representative and executive leadership carry out decisions, and volunteer committees support programs, humanitarian activity and cultural events. Responsible stewardship, documented decisions and avoidance of conflicts of interest guide our work.

Udruga “Hrvatske Žene” Donji Kukuruzari is a non-profit legal entity registered in the Register of Associations of the Republic of Croatia. OIB: 50727135322. The association operates for public-benefit and member purposes and does not distribute profit to individuals.
